Katoomba

is the most visited town in the Blue Mountains. “Katta-toon-bah” is an Aboriginal term for “water tumbling over hill”.  There are numerous lookouts around, providing spectacular scenery of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.

Echo Point ensures the best vantage point to see the famous Three Sisters, Mount Solitary and the rock formation known as the Ruined Castle. You will appreciate the beauty of this area with its famous blue haze that emits from the vast eucalypt forests.

The scenery along the Cliff Drive is absolutely breathtaking! It is a great opportunity to enjoy views of Jamison Valley from different angles.

Narrow Neck lookout provides uninterrupted view of the magnificent Megalong Valley. It is a favourite gathering spot for cockatoos and other birds at the sunset.

In the town, Katoomba Street is vibrant and colourful. There are a lot of different shops and historic buildings along the street, including the Carrington, – the first hotel in Katoomba, erected in 1882.
