Lower Blue Mountains Tour

is an energizing ride starting from Penrith, through Emu Heights, up towards Blaxland, through Springwood, Winmalee, Yarramundi, Agnes Banks, and visiting Sydney International Regatta Centre on our way back.

First we cross Nepean River over the Victoria Bridge and ride towards Emu Heights. Then we climb a steep winding road up the foot of the Blue Mountains and enter peaceful northern side of Blaxland.

We continue up the Great Western Highway passing Warrimoo, Valley Heights and enter Springwood the second largest town in the Blue Mountains. Riding through the town centre we can see some historic buildings, including the beautiful Presbyterian Church.

Then we take the Hawkesbury Road and ride towards Winmalee. It is an aboriginal name meaning ‘in a northerly direction’. Continue down the road we stop at spectacular Hawkesbury Lookout with views over the Nepean River and the vast plains leading to Sydney.

Refreshed and eager to keep going we fly down exciting twists and turns towards Yarramundi. There is beautiful Yarramundi Reserve, located at the confluence of the Grose and Hawkesbury-Nepean Rivers.

We turn right on Castlereagh Road and head south towards Penrith. It is a smooth and relaxing riding here, along the Penrith Lakes Regional Park.

Before returning back to Penrith we visit Sydney International Regatta Centre, the host to the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Here we take photos of us, happy and full of beans.
